In February, 2007 we at Northwest Hills celebrated our 40th anniversary as a church - forty years as a congregation serving God and the community! This is truly an exciting time in the life of our church as we look to the next forty years of our church serving as the Hands and Feet of Christ to this community and to the world.
Our annual Stewardship Campaign begins this week and will be a continued celebration of our church's many ministries and the work that God is doing at Northwest Hills UMC. James Howell's "Yours are the Hands of Christ" has served as our focus for Open House month and it will also serve as our focus for celebrating our church's shared vision: "Offering God's Love" Building Believers". Each week in October we will highlight one of "the Hands of Christ" corresponding with Our Prayers, Our Presence, Our Gifts and Our Service.
Additionally, we have a scriptural focus of "Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only" (James 1:22) that will provide a basis for reflection upon our Christian service and Discipleship as we go through our stewardship campaign. We encourage you to pray for our church and its ministries and to pray about your part in the future of God's church here at Northwest Hills. We invite you to celebrate how our ministries are changing lives and unite with us in funding even greater ministries for 2008.
Please mark the date, Sunday October 28, and plan to be part of our Celebration Sunday service that day. We will have one combined morning worship at 11:15 a.m. followed by a free catered Celebration Lunch in the Family Life Center. During that service all of us will present our responses to fulfill our vision of "Offering God's Love, Building Believers". These gifts will define our ministries in 2008 and determine what we can do to serve God at Northwest Hills for the first of our next forty years.
Please join us in celebrating the life of our church and praising God with Our Prayers, Our Presence, Our Gifts and Our Service.
