Pathway to Discipleship

Adult Ministries at Northwest Hills

The mission of Northwest Hills UMC's Adult Ministries is to involve our members and visitors in fellowship and ministry. The spiritual growth of the congregation is strengthened through study opportunities, fellowship gatherings, and prayer ministry. Below you will find groups that are in fellowship and offer support, as well as a few of many opportunities to participate in prayer ministry and study.

United Methodist Men

(UMM) strengthen a man's spiritual walk with God. They declare Christ as the center of their lives and are in ministry together. Men of all ages are welcome to participate in the many activities of the NWHills UMM. We gather each Wednesday morning, 7:00-8:00 a.m. in the FLC for a hearty breakfast, robust fellowship, a brief devotional and a sincere time of prayer for those in need. There is also a "First Saturday" breakfast group that meets monthly, 8:00-9:00 a.m. in the FLC. Ken Moyer, UMM President.

Congregational Care

supports those members who have lost loved ones, have serious illness, or who find themselves in care facilities.

Bonnie LaBoon

This committee provides receptions following funerals, housesitting during the service, and meal delivery to those recently released from the hospital. If you are aware of a need, please contact the pastors or Bonnie LaBoon at 345-2230.

Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry

is supported by our pastors and is based on Jesus' command to love one another. Through one-to-one caring and confidential relationships, those who are hurting receive support, love, and care from people trained in this distinctively Christian care-giving. Anyone who is going through difficult times and needs someone to care, to listen, and to share God's love on a one-on-one confidential basis, may call the church (512-345-1743) and request information on this ministry.

Singles Ministry

Singles Ministry

The NWH Singles Ministry's vision is to facilitate the welcoming and integration of adult single people of all ages to our church community through activities focused on spiritual growth, service to the church, outreach, and social interaction in the community of believers. We do this through weekly lunches after church, social events, study, Sunday School classes for all ages, dinner and movie nights, participation in district singles events, game nights, parties, Habitat for Humanity, and fellowship. Please contact Daniel Dietz for more information about Singles Ministry events and how to join our Singles Yahoo! group.
