Children's Ministries at Northwest Hills

"Let the little children come unto me." Mark 10:14

circle of children

The children's ministry team mission is to provide a community of faith that will lead, nurture, and teach children about God's love, and ways of sharing that love.

Children in Worship

Care is provided for children from birth through fifth grade at any church-sponsored function. Nursery is available on Sunday for children not yet attending school.

acolytes

Worship enrichment for children happens in numerous ways: acolytes, greeters, children's time, Worship folders, Celebration, camp, and chapel.

One of the major events each year is Vacation Bible School. VBS is held for a week with lots of adult & youth volunteers working with our children. Then we have another VBS for My Friend's House, our child development center. In the past we have also helped sponsor a small church.

Sunday mornings there are 8 children's classes with at least 2 teachers in a class. Curriculum is Methodist based & age level appropriate.

Third graders receive their Bibles in August and begin the 3 month study "Knowing My Bible."

Easter is a special time in the life of our children. Starting on Saturday there is an Easter egg hunt held in the Family Life Center. After the children hunt for eggs we go to the Activity Center for fun & games including a moonwalk. Then, Sunday morning, both worship services include a special children's sermon. During the Sunday school hour all children age 2 & up meet together in the Activity Center and Celebrate Easter! Last year's theme was planting seeds — what will this year's theme be?
