Corey Candler received the Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance with emphasis in Sacred Music from Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, LA, and completed the Master of Music degree in Organ Performance at the University of Texas, Austin. As the Assistant Director of Music, Corey serves as Organist/Pianist for all worship services and directs Joyful Praise. Corey is an active member of the Austin chapter of the American Guild of Organists and currently serves as webmaster for the chapter's website. He has also served as secretary for the chapter. August 2007 marks the beginning of Corey's first year with the Austin Children's Choir as the Assistant Director.
He has experience accompanying church and university choirs, instrumental and vocal soloists and has performed numerous works with choir and orchestra. He served at Baptist and Catholic churches in Louisiana before moving to Austin. Corey also enjoys composing, playing flute and singing.
