MISSIONS OFFERING for May will support Vacation Bible School, both here at NWHUMC and for the Asbury UMC neighborhood. If you would like to volunteer to help at either of these, please contact Jean Marinus at the church.
YOUTH MISSION TRIP DEADLINES: SUNDAY is the final deadline for the Sr. High UMARMY Mission Trip to Alice, June 13-21 (Cost now $255).
UNITED METHODIST WOMEN: The UMW of NWHUMC will host a luncheon for the church staff on Tuesday, May 13 in the FLC Upper Room. If you'd like to find out about the UMW, please call Myra Rattan at 989-2157.
NORTH HILLS GALLERY presents the Capitol City Scribes' show Something Old, Something New, Something Lettered from May 7-June 1. An opening reception will be held Sunday, May 18 at 12:30 p.m.
HOPE FOR FREEDOM is the title of the concert to be presented by the Sanctuary Choir on May 18 at 4:00 p.m. It will feature African American Spirituals such as "Go, Tell It On the Mountain" and "Ride On! King Jesus" as well as slides and narration to enhance the understanding of this genre of uniquely American folk music. The concert is free and open to the public. Bring your friends!
WOMEN'S MINISTRY BRUNCH! Saturday, May 31 at 10:00 a.m., NWHUMC will host a Women's Ministry Brunch. Many women have voiced a desire to become more connected and active at Northwest Hills. We will meet in the FLC Activity Center for brunch to discuss what Women's Ministry might look like for our congregation. More information is coming soon!
TRAVEL NEWS: Join the Travel Committee on a trip to see A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum on Saturday, May 31. We will meet at the church at 5:45 p.m. and leave by carpool and van. Dinner will be at El Gallo restaurant before the 8:00 p.m. performance at Austin Playhouse. The cost is $36.00 per person. Please sign up at the front desk of the office or call the church office to make your reservation by May 23.
GET YOUR HYMN REQUESTS IN NOW! The gathering music for the 11:15 service in the months of June, July, and August will be in the form of a hymnsing. If you have requests for favorite hymns to be sung during those times, please write them down on a piece of paper and give them to Beth or place them in the offering plate. We will honor as many requests as possible!
