Dear all,
NW Hills has been certified as a Welcoming Congregation by Igniting Ministries, an agency of U.S. Methodist Headquarters in Nashville. Rev. Bill Henderson received a plaque and a nice letter. A handwritten note commended our directional signs in particular.
The Rev. Kim Cape, Austin District Superintendent, presented each Welcoming Congregation in the District with a pineapple. It is the symbol of welcome among native Caribbean Islanders.
Both the plaque and the pineapple were presented to Vance Morton and Tami Anderson at the Church Council meeting on May 22. Vance is the current chair of the Evangelism Committee. Tami, the past chair, compiled most of the documentation that earned us the certification.
Thanks to all ushers, greeters, visitor-callers, bread- deliverers, shepherds, Guardian Angels, sign-makers, and friendly faces in Sunday School classes and in church who continue to make us a genuinely friendly Welcoming Congregation.
Grace and peace,
Bill Cain
