When you or someone you know is hurting, Stephen Ministry helps to meet the needs of individuals who are hurting Stephen Ministers Care.

"This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." John 15:12

In Stephen Ministry, a Care Receiver is someone:

• Who needs a Christian to listen and keep confidences
• Who needs a Christian to care and share God's love
• Who needs to talk with someone they can trust
• Who needs some to "be there" for them during troubling times

In Stephen Ministry, a Care Giver is someone

• Who helps meet the needs of individuals who are:
• Hospitalized/recently discharged
• Facing serious or terminal illness or someone in their family facing serious or terminal illness
• Persons adjusting to becoming single parents
• Any person adjusting to a new job, loss of job, a recent move, or any of life's transitions
• Homebound/alone

Would you like to share God's love with those who are experiencing:

• Loneliness
• Loss of a loved one
• Retirement changes
• Employment changes
• Discouragement
• Childbirth
• Hospitalization
• Divorce
• Grief
• Illness
• Being shut-in
• Spiritual Questions

Stephen Ministry is supported by our pastors and is based on Jesus' command to love one another. Through one-to-one caring and confidential relationships, those who are hurting receive support, love, and care from people trained in this distinctively Christian caregiving.

We are here for you. Anyone who is going through difficult times and needs someone to care, to listen, and to share God's love on a one-to-one confidential basis, may call the church (345-1743) and request information on this ministry. Information is also available in room 117 at NWHUMC.
