Let us continue the journey of Lent each week and remember OUR journey to the Cross and the resurrected life through Jesus Christ. This year's walk is being held at Camp Mabry and we'd love to have you with us. Join your neighbors and friends in walking together to take a stand against hunger in the world. Sign up in the Narthex as a family or individual to help us raise funds to support the cause.
All proceeds benefit Church World Services (CWS) which uses them to provide food, medical care, disaster relief and self-help development for needy people in Austin and around the world.

Come meet UT Law Student, Corinne Waite, who will be organizing your group and talk about what YOU want this small group to look like. College is a new season of life that is filled with great opportunities and sometimes great challenges. Meet with other students who are in the same place in life that you are. Walk through scripture and apply it to your life circum-stances. Meet outside of church sometimes for fun and fellowship!

Alex and Lindsey from the Praise Band have joyfully agreed to organize this new ministry. You might ask, "How old are young adults?" Good question.....I don't know!!! Let's say, out of college or around 22 - 30's. It's up to you as a group to discern what feels right and what God has for you. More details and dates very soon!!
Tuesday, March 3, 7:00-9:00pm Room 106
This is a weekly class and you are invited to come each week or whenever you can. There will be a month by month class schedule so you will know what is coming up. The class will be led by Paulette Payne and the first lesson is Genesis chapters 1 through 4 which should be read prior to class. No books will be used. Bibles are mandatory and various resources for home study are encouraged: maps, atlas, commentaries, bible dictionary etc. Handouts will be given during class.
All are welcome. No previous experience or bible study is necessary. For more info, email Paulette Payne or call her at
512-627-9072. You may also call the church office to register. A $5.00 fee for materials can be paid at the first class. The ultimate goal of this class is to study the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
Saturday, March 7, 5:45pm
Join the Roadrunners for a visit to the Austin Playhouse to see
She Stoops to Conquer, a boisterous and charming comedy of mistaken identities that has delighted audiences for over two centuries. We will leave the church by bus at 5:45 on March 7 to go to Mimi’s for dinner (order and pay on your own) and then on to the Austin Playhouse for the 8:00 pm performance. The cost is $29 for adults, $26 for seniors, and $15 for students. Sign up in the folder in the church office not later than noon on March 4.

If you are a newcomer to Northwest Hills you are invited to take “A Closer Look.” Pastor Charlie will be leading a two-session overview of the United Methodist Church and Northwest Hills UMC. We will meet downstairs in room 112.

This will be a time of great rejoicing as we are led in worship by the gospel group Access. Dick Lillie, Darla Nicholson, Tom Waggoner, and Les Broomall will be singing gospel/barbershop style songs of worship, and leading the congregation in singing some good old-time favorites. Don’t miss it!

Women, men and youth (with accompanying adult), save the date for the 19th Annual Damron-Davidson Golf Tournament. Join us for a fantastic catfish meal at 5:30 pm in the FLC Activity Center. Coffee with the Pastors
Are you a newcomer to Northwest Hills? Are you a guest or have you recently joined the church? Either way, you may have questions. Join us for coffee with the pastors on the first Sunday of each month at 10:10 am in room 110 of the Worship and Education building. Pastors Charlie and Audrey want to get to know you and provide more information about this faith community. We look forward to seeing you!
