Join us September 8 as we serve the Community First! Village is a 51-acre master planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for the chronically homeless in Central Texas. Development of Mobile Loaves & Fishes, this transformed residential program exists to love and serve our neighbors who have been living on the streets, while also empowering the surrounding community into a lifestyle of service with the homeless.
NWH UMC has found our participation at Community First! Village to be positive and inspiring. Our role will be to set up the worship space by arranging chairs and tables, providing dinner and putting up the chairs and tables afterwards. Throughout, we will be greeting and getting to know the worshipers there, participating in the worship and sharing the meal. Families are welcome. Children and youth under 18 need to be accompanied by a parent. Carpools leave from NWH at 4:00 pm. We expect to return to NWH about 7:30 pm. If you have interest in riding the church bus, please let me know. If there is enough interest, we will try to recruit a driver.
