Last summer, Bob Ford offered made a gift for every single church member – a stained glass panel featuring a picture of the stained glass window in our sanctuary.

Bob asked everyone who accepted one of the stained glass panels to use them in a particular manner. He asked that every time we see our stained glass panel, we allow it to prod us to consider the following question: what is God is asking you to do through this church?

So, has the stained glass panel of our church window actually prompted you to consider how you can serve God through Northwest Hills UMC? If so, what action have you undertaken as a result?

Pastor Laura is asking you to share your responses with her. She wishes to include them in a sermon to be preached on March 3.
You can email your story to lbrewster@nwhillsumc.org

ERT Basic Training, Saturday, Jan. 12th at Dripping Springs

Do you wish you could do more to help our neighbors after a huge disaster?  Sign up for training!

Our annual conference – The Rio Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church – is now offering a class on Emergency Response Training.  ERT trained persons can join small work teams that quickly mobilize to help disaster victims do such things as tarp a roof, clear downed trees, rip wet sheetrock out of water logged homes, etc.

If sufficient persons from our church become ERT trained, we will have the capacity to send an ERT team from our church to disaster sites as opposed to joining a work team from another church.

If you do choose to seek training, please let me know.

Grace and peace to you all,
Pastor Laura

Christmas 2018 at Northwest Hills

Thank you to Pastor Laura & Pastor Audrey and their Ministry Teams. Thank you Cindy Martin and all of those who help decorate our beautiful sanctuary. Thank you to our Music Ministry and fabulous Cantata, our Greeters, our Ushers. Thank you to all those who served in the wonderful Living Nativity that blessed so many. Thank you to our Hospitality Team that provided all the goodies in the narthex during this season. Thank you Dennis Ellis for great pictures which we will enjoy for years to come.

La Posada!La Posada, the tradition commemorates Mary and Joseph’s difficult journey from Nazareth to Bethlehem in search of a warm place to stay the night. (Posadas is Spanish for “lodgings” or “accommodations.”) We stood outside a  series of houses, singing songs, asking for lodging. We are refused time and again. Then, finally, we are ask our youth at the NWHills Youth Center and are allowed in. Here we celebrate,  with song and festivities. For those of us who attended it was a very special. Families were invited to join us for festivities.

Our annual Gingerbread Cafe was a treat for many girlls and boys. A wonderful opportunity the tell “The Real Christmas Story” by our own John Coffman as Santa.
