RAMP BUILD NOV 2, 2019

Texas Ramp Project

Our teams build wooden wheelchair ramps for free to disabled or elderly people who can’t afford to buy one. In a few hours on a Saturday, we give our neighbors the freedom to leave their home again—the home where they want to remain, but whose steps have imprisoned them. The Central Texas affiliate of Texas Ramp Project provides client referrals, permits, designs, tools and materials.  NWH UMC provides the labor and build leaders.  Look for the next build dates in the Sunday bulletins.  Sign up is in the church lobby.

Volunteers

  • Must be at least 14 years old (with parent present) and be willing to work on a light construction project outside.  No previous experience is required, but be willing to learn.
  • Must bring personal safety equipment including gloves, closed-toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection and weather appropriate clothing.
  • Must sign the liability waiver and media release forms    nwhillsumc.org/mediarelease
  • nwhillsumc.org/rampwaiver

Since 2006, more than 2165 ramps have been built in our area.

Brunch at University UMC December 21

Help with preparing, cooking, and serving food; then cleaning kitchen and Great Hall of Family Life Center at University UMC; and visiting with our guests. The homeless and community continues to grow with the growth of our city. We see families in need with children, and men and women struggling without work. We know it’s God will and our work as disciples to love and serve this community. There is not a better feeling knowing you are doing something to make a difference.
