We were tired after a week in the Valley doing home repair and community service and sunburned from a day at the beach celebrating all that God had done that week…but we had Whataburger and each other and we were happy and so full.

Current Summer Events

Christmas in July Pool Party

It’s Christmas!  In July!

On Saturday, July 25th, the Muellers are hosting us for a Christmas in July pool party.  Wear your normal swimming attire, but come with a homemade gift for a white elephant gift exchange and prepare to eat stacks and stacks of Christmas cookies.

Fiesta Texas

Saturday, August 1st

We will meet at Northwest Hills UMC at 8:15am to carpool together.  Our goal is to arrive at Six Flags Fiesta Texas just before the park opens at 10:30am so we can have folks apply sunscreen and go over our procedures for safety.  The $50 will cover each person’s admission to the park, one meal, one snack, and one beverage.  If a youth has an active season pass to Fiesta Texas, their price drops to $15, which covers the meal, snack, and beverage.

Bring a water bottle!  There are stations to fill water bottles throughout the park.

While Fiesta Texas is a cashless park, youth who choose to bring extra spending cash may load their cash onto pre-paid debit cards at kiosks throughout the park.

We will meet back up as a group at a predetermined spot at 6:30pm to load into our vehicles and head back to Austin.  Youth should bring spending money for dinner on our way back home.

Youth will be required to stay with at least one other youth and adult at all times.

End of Summer Retreat

Saturday, August 8th – Sunday, August 9th

All youth, from incoming 6th graders – graduated seniors, are invited to our End of Summer Retreat!

We’ll meet up early on Saturday morning when parents can drop off their youth at Northwest Hills UMC at 8am.

From there, we’ll head over to a 59 foot ramp build that we’re doing in partnership with Texas Ramp Project to restore mobility to a disabled veteran client who has a hard time getting in and out of their home.

After we complete the build, we’ll come back to Northwest Hills UMC to shower, eat, hang out, worship, and play games throughout the night.

Sunday morning, we’ll get up, have breakfast, go to church, and then head over to Typhoon Texas for a day of waterpark goodness.  We’ll have dinner out on Sunday night, and parents can pick up their youth from the Youth Center on Sunday night at 7pm.

This is the perfect opportunity to do some good, have some fun, and shore up your foundation in God before the school year starts back up on August 18th.

Regular Meetings

After School Program

Wednesdays during the school year, 3:50 – 5:30 PM

Every Wednesday, we’re opening up our Youth Center from 3:50 – 5:30pm to give youth a place to hang out, do homework, play games, and build community.

If you’re interested in volunteering at the After School Program, click here to contact Tyler Steele.

Sunday School

(Almost) Every Sunday, 10am, in the Youth Center
If you answered yes to any of these questions, U.M. ARMY is for you!

On Sunday mornings between the 9 and 11am services, youth gather in the Youth Center to kick it, share what’s going on in their lives, and read from the good book.

For more information on what we’re covering in Sunday School each week, you can reach out to Tyler.
