Serve at Northwest Hills UMC

Get Involved on Campus

One of the best ways to feel ingrained in a community is to get involved in a leadership or volunteer position. Serving within our campus is an easy way to get to know other members and to contribute to our worship life. While each of these positions requires a certain amount of commitment, there is flexibility in scheduling and you shouldn’t feel like you’re locked in forever. You are welcome to volunteer on a long or short-term basis, as part of a regularly occurring activity, or just for a single afternoon.

We’re happy to talk about expectations before you commit to anything.

Music Ministries

Joyful Praise is the Northwest Hills UMC Praise Band. The band provides contemporary Christian music for the 9 am worship service. For more information or to get involved, contact our Contemporary Worship Leader, Jordan Burchill.

Sanctuary Choir sings special music at the 11 am worship service on a weekly basis. Currently, the choir is making plans to meet in small groups.

Ring of Faith Handbell Choir plays at the 11 am worship service once per month. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced ringer, you are invited to join in.

Media

Perhaps our most in-need volunteers these days! The media team works with sound, lights, monitors, and musicians in both services. Volunteers can be trained, and we are eager for more help!

Prayer Ministry

Prayer Team prays weekly over the Sunday prayer request and prayer concerns.

Prayer Shawl Ministry makes special prayer shawls for individuals who may be ill or hospitalized, and to celebrate new births.

Serve the Austin Community

Helping Our Neighbors

We are committed to long term connections and service around Austin and beyond. Our projects vary from construction, painting, and building to direct services like cooking, serving meals, and ministries of presence. If you have resources to share but are short on time, we participate in food and supply drives and fundraisers. We have mission opportunities for everyone, regardless of your age, economic resources, or physical ability.
